Practical RAMS
Lesson explanation
RAMS brings together risk assessment and a method statement so that planning leads to practical precautions. This independent awareness course concerns construction and fit out in Great Britain. It helps you question a proposed job, recognise missing information and understand how a team should be briefed. Reading a document cannot establish that a workplace is ready.
Use the fictional shop installation to practise decisions before anyone cuts, drills or works above floor level. Compare the proposed method with the actual location, available equipment and people nearby. Where information is missing, record the uncertainty and refer it to the responsible person. Completing this learning does not authorise work or demonstrate task competence.
